Annual Conversation 2021

What is the Annual Conversation?

In 2021, following fantastic engagement from a variety of partners, children and young people throughout G7 and with the forthcoming build up to the British Youth Council | Make Your Mark - UK Youth Parliament (byc.org.uk) survey and Members of Youth Parliament elections (MYP) in spring 2022, the Annual Conversation was a facilitated dialogue between children, young people and council leaders. The children, young people and Leaders worked together to discuss their ideas, visions and solutions to inform three pledges, one for each of the three identified priorities. Leaders and Young People worked together to make 5 pledges around the 3 main priority areas for children and young people.  In November 2022, we are excited to be running our second Annual Conversation, building on last year.

2021 priorities for young people:

  • Climate, environment and carbon neutrality

  • Mental and physical health and wellbeing

  • Future opportunities in Cornwall – housing and careers for Young People

When did it take place?

  • Online- kick off event- Tuesday 2nd November 2021
  • Pre-event Workshop: Saturday 13th November 2021 at The Eden Project, St Austell
  • The Annual Conversation: Tuesday 30th November 2021 at New County Hall, Truro
