Same storm, different boats

Have you spotted the "Same storm, different boats" posters around Cornwall? They have been created by some fabulous young people working with Headstart Youth as part of the Back to School campaign with the council.

(If you do spot one - take a photo, post it on Instagram and tag @hskyouth #backtoschoolcornwall and say where you spotted it for your chance to be entered into our prize draw).

The young people really wanted:

To highlight that everyone (students, staff, patrents and carershas had very different experiences during Covid and the lockdown and will be going back to school with lots of different hopes, worries and expectations.

Schools to recognise this and understand that while many students are ready and pleased to be going back others will find it hard. So they want school staff to remember that sometimes behaviour is about communicating how a person is feeling...and to try and be understanding...

All young people to understand that everyone has had shared the lockdown storm but some have experienced it lots of different ways. So their key message is about Being Kind and looking out for each other (and remembering self-care too)! Check out the self-care section in our wellbeing toolbox
